LCFA Creative Growth Grant

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Ongoing, minimum of 1 month in advance of event for education, exhibition, and event grants. Crisis requests are accepted ongoing, see special notes below.

PURPOSE: Help local working artists in their creative growth. Provide grants for (examples): tuition for art camps and continuing education, exhibition and event fees (must be visual arts related events), and limited crisis support for artists who may be temporarily unable to work.

SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT CRISIS SUPPORT: This grant also offers financial assistance to mature, creative visual artists living in Lee County who have made a significant contribution to the community through their art and find themselves beset by emergency situations that they do not have the financial resources to meet. Qualified applicants who receive crisis funding may reapply on a yearly basis, but their application must be reviewed and assessed each time. Crisis funding is limited. Crisis event must have occurred within three (3) months of application date.

APPLICATION AND REVIEW PROCESS

  • Applications are reviewed regularly by the LCFA Board of Directors for disposition.
  • Grants are not guaranteed and are as funds are available.
  • Applicant must be a full-time resident of Lee County, NC with a permanent address in the county.
  • Applicant may apply for no more than one grant per six months (excepting crisis-related grants which are annual).
  • Applicant must complete an online grant request form. Crisis request requires submission of need-based evidence (any medical information provided will be kept confidential).
  • LCFA will pay grants directly to provider (camp, school, event, or crisis provider).
  • All decisions by the LCFA Board of Directors are final.

ACCEPTANCE PROCESS:

  • Recipient shall acknowledge and sign the Grant Contract within six months of approved request.
  • For exhibitions or events only, the recipient shall display LCFA promotional brochures or postcards at their booth or show for the duration of the event with acknowledgement of LCFA grant. Recipients may also acknowledge grant via social media or website with LCFA offering reciprocal promotion of support to assist in marketing the event.
